FUPAYME ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website and progressive web application at fupayme.hockey (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

• Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
• Display name
• Phone number (for league communications and SMS notifications)
• Position preferences (skater and/or goalie)
• Payment handles you choose to share (e.g., Venmo username, Cash App cashtag)

League and event data

• League memberships, group assignments, and invite codes you use
• Event registrations, roster status, waitlist position, and payment status
• Messages and actions you take within the Service (e.g., securing a spot, confirming payment)

Notification preferences

• SMS opt-in status (whether you have agreed to receive text messages)
• Push notification subscription data (device endpoints, when enabled)

Technical information

• Browser type, device information, and IP address
• Session cookies required for authentication
• Service worker and PWA installation data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Operate league rosters, waitlists, and event booking
• Facilitate peer-to-peer payment deep links (Venmo and Cash App)
• Send transactional emails about skates, waitlists, payments, and cancellations
• Send SMS text messages you have opted in to receive (see Section 4)
• Send push notifications when you enable them in Settings
• Allow organizers to manage events and verify payments
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
• Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Other league members and organizers — Your display name, roster status, and position may be visible to others in your league. Organizers may see contact information needed to run events.
• Service providers — We use trusted third parties to operate the Service, including:
  • Supabase (database, authentication, hosting infrastructure)
  • Resend (transactional email delivery)
  • Telnyx (SMS message delivery)
  • Vercel (application hosting)
• Legal requirements — When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

4. SMS Text Messaging

If you provide a phone number and explicitly opt in to SMS notifications (unchecked by default during account setup, and manageable anytime under Settings → SMS Notifications), we may send you transactional automated text messages triggered by real-time league activity. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS blasts. Message types include:

• New or updated skate announcements
• Waitlist promotions when a roster spot opens
• Payment reminders and payment verification confirmations
• Event cancellation notices

Message frequency varies based on league activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-out: You can opt out at any time by (1) turning off SMS notifications in Settings, or (2) replying STOP to any message we send. After opting out, you may reply START to re-subscribe. For help, reply HELP or email support@fupayme.hockey.

SMS delivery is provided by Telnyx. Telnyx processes your phone number to deliver messages on our behalf. Telnyx's privacy practices are described at telnyx.com/privacy-policy.

5. Email and Push Notifications

We send transactional emails to the address associated with your account for the same types of events described above. You can manage push notifications in Settings. Disabling push notifications does not affect SMS or email unless you separately opt out of those channels.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion by contacting support@fupayme.hockey.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level database security, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

• Update your profile, phone number, and notification preferences in Settings
• Opt out of SMS as described in Section 4
• Request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us

Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights under applicable law (e.g., access, correction, deletion). Contact us to exercise those rights.

9. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
